Sounds like a good call to me, as long as none of ‘em are straightedge!

I think a fine tequila is a great gift. I think it is less cliche and a little more avant garde then a bottle of wine.

I did the same thing one year but I cringed when they threw it in a blender with some ice and some sugary, artificial, 2 dollar bottle of margarita mix!

I wished I were on the list. Nothing like a shot of tequila to get the party started.

This is the second book I’ve read by Olivia and enjoyed it very much. It was very entertaining and engaging enough that I read it cover to cover (or 100%, in this e-book world) in a day. The unusual backdrop of bottle collecting was unique and informative. The town of Ely, Nevada, and the the surroundings, with which I am familiar, was rendered with color and accuracy, and the entire book was just a good read. Also, all the protagonists are over 50 so I could readily relate to their attitudes and behaviors.

If I were to critique this novel (which apparently I am) the only flaw is the Bad Guy becomes too obvious early on. But this is offset by wondering How Does the Bad Guy Get His Just Desserts?

Good book! I look forward to reading more by Olivia!

An invaluable resource for collectors of South Carolina dispensary bottles from both a historical perspective and as a resource for the many variations of containers the system produced. This compilation contains an overview of the history of the system including the colorful creator (Gov. Tillman) and the events leading to and following the “whiskey rebellion”. It recounts an interesting time in South Carolina history when prohibitionist compromises helped to create one of the most corrupt government-run businesses of the time. The dispensary idea was sold as both a means to control the flow of alcohol and raise revenue for the state education fund…an interesting parallel as South Carolina currently embarks on building support for a state run lottery, also “to improve education”.
